Essentially these Pool Position swim briefs are excellent and look great! They're well made and quality. I went for the version without the padding pocket and 1 size up. I've given a 4 star rating only because I have a a generous 'package' but definitely within average size range and the pouch is quite a tight fit. I would still definitely recommend this swimwear

Nice colors, excellent quality

Have purchased several BANG swimsuits recently for gym aquatic classes. They seem to be holding up well in chlorinated pool water, which is not the case with many swimsuit brands.

Our recommendation is actually to not go by actual size of the waist, but rather by actual size number that you use for jeans or pants.Some people have a waist that "measures" 33, but they may wear their jeans or pants in 32 or 34. If your jeans are mostly a 33 size, then we recommend you choose our Swim Briefs in Large. Stripe a pose swim brief - I realize there is a drawstring but is the waistband also elastic? Is it necessary to tie the drawstring to keep them up? Thanks!

Hi, Mark. Yes, the waistband of our Swim Briefs is fully elastic as well. It's not necessary to tie the drawstring to keep them up, if you're only walking around with them or just laying under the sun. You might want to tie it if you plan to head dive into water, or play in the ocean with waves, or other activities where more intense movement may be involved.

The 2023 version in comparison with the 2022 one has a slightly larger and roomier pouch section, for a more relaxed fit in that area.

Regarding the swim brief, with full pack feature, is it removable? and if it is.....does it then fit the same as the without full pack system? or is there quite a bit of fabric left in front? Thank you, B.

Hi, Bradley. Yes, in the case of the swim brief with the full-pack system, the internal pad itself is removable (by simply pulling it out). However the pocket made of liner fabric that contains it, remains as part of the construction of the swimsuit. You'll need to cut it with scissors if you want to remove that part as well. The fit of both versions - with or with the pouch system - is the same. Some people though prefer a look that is full-flat and free of any fabric lines (which extra internal materials may create); so they choose the variant without the pouch bag for that. And they on purpose rather prefer a tighter layer of fabric against the skin, as they don't mind some occasional VPL display. For those who prefer a rather more discreet profile, the with-pouch-system variant works better, as even when the modesty pad is not inserted, the extra layer of fabric still acts as a subtle concealer around that area. The feel of the fit is the same whether the pouch pad is inserted or removed, as the material is light and spongy.
