To create our Swim Sungas we went back to the roots and then applied some of our signature BANG! tweaks to it. The starting point was the pattern of an original Brazilian sunga from the 90s, as based on the MMA shorts of jiu-jitsu fighters that back in the day were adapted to use in the water for the beaches of Rio de Janeiro.

Then we started cutting and accentuating some of the curved lines to spice up its sexiness factor, and to bring it to some middle ground between the shape of our acclaimed Swim Briefs and the form of our new square-cut Swim Trunks. Still, we kept the construction tight around the legs while easy around the waist, to maintain the essence of the Brazilian Men’s Sunga. And true to the original, we kept the silhouette plain and free of any accents, pockets, or accessories.

For swimwear in general, the rule is that measures are stated mostly by reference of regular-clothing waist size (not actual body measures). Using the example on this table, if you usually wear 33" in jeans or pants, then a Large should be your size of reference for BANG! swimsuits.

Machine wash cold on delicate cycle, or hand wash. Lay flat to dry.

Wash separately: The type of dye-pigment used on this fabric has limited fastness resistance. Depending on conditions or temperature it may react and transfer color when exposed to pool water (chlorinated) or sea water.

Do not iron. Dry in shade. Do not wring or scrub.

Do not use chlorine-based whiteners, stain removers. Do not use fabric softeners.

Wash only with similar colors.

Avoid contact with rough surfaces or sharp edges to prevent damage to the fabric.

This swimsuit is made with a premium quality fabric, which feels incredibly smooth and soft to the touch. Therefore it should be treated as carefully as other delicate and costly fabrics of similar higher grade, like silk or rayon. Be attentive when sitting or leaning against pool borders or steps made of stone or concrete finishes, as rubbing the fabric of your swimsuit against those may damage the appearance of the fabric.

Also be careful with swimming pools, jacuzzis or similar places where water may have a high concentration of chlorine. Exposing the type of high-quality/delicate fabric of this swimsuit to water with unbalanced levels of pH (as in when high concentrations of chlorine or other chemicals are present) may leave residues of permanent discoloration ("yellowing effect") on the fibers of the garment. In case exposure happens, we recommend to wash and rinse your swimsuit with fresh clean water as soon as possible. Leaving your swimsuit to dry if it's wet with chlorinated water, may create yellow residues of color on the fabric, causing permanent damage to its fibers.

Bang! has gone out on a limb and made a less traditional sunga with this design. However, that’s what makes this sunga entirely unique and chic. The fit is just as it appears on the model and there is less extra material that bushels at the leg openings. I love this pair and I can’t wait to buy similar in other colors.

Does the Sunga brief swimsuit Fit true to size? and it looks like the suit sits a bit lower on the front waist? Does the Sunga also come with or without built-in Full-Pack system? (I like the idea of making my package look bigger without showing the outline of my man junk) I'm usually a medium size, 32" waist in jeans & Pants, but normally I will order a large, 33 -34 waist in a speedo brief brand suit. Only because they fit so tightly if I get them in Medium? Can you advice me which size I should purchase?, Med or Large. Thank you for your help. Brad

You are correct: our Swim Sunga also sits a bit lower on the front waist, as one of the signature features of all our BANG!® swimsuits, is that we cut them on purpose with a lower rise, to give a sexier fit to all of them.

The Swim Sungas are not made with the option of with or without the built-in Full-Pack system. They come in only one version, without any extra accessories built inside. As we explain in the description, precisely because for our BANG!® version of a Brazilian Swim Sunga, we wanted to keep that aspect true to the original, and so we kept its construction, structure and silhouette plain and free of any extra accents, pockets, or accessories.

We noticed that you ordered two different size of it, and you did the right thing as when in doubt about sizing we encourage all our customers to take advantage of our hassle-free exchanges and returns policy, and therefore order confidently several sizes or styles to try them all, keep what they like, and what doesn't work as expected just return it to us for a refund.

About their construction, they do fit quite tight around the waist overall, and since the type of fabrics we use are of premium grade, they do have stronger tension than others, plus the fully-lined interior also adds a second layer of extra adjustment all around. As a result, when worn, the Swim Sungas keep all body shape assets (including butt cheeks) in place.
